Lakeland blanked its two opponents through all 120 minutes of the Southeastern District Field Hockey Tournament and won the title with a 3-0 victory over Grassfield Friday evening at the U.S. Field Hockey National Training Center in Virginia Beach.

Following the 12th straight Southeastern District season championship, the Lady Cavaliers won their 11th straight district tournament.

Lakeland outscored opponents 71-4 in 11 district matches this season. It’s the ninth straight undefeated season through the Southeastern by the Lady Cavaliers.

Center forward Kasey Smith scored two of the Lady Cavalier goals. Midfielder Alexis Albright scored a goal.

Lakeland beat Grassfield 3-0 in their regular season match earlier this month.

Lakeland (14-4) and Grassfield, the Southeastern’s runner-up in the regular season as well, advance to the Eastern Region Tournament starting with the quarterfinals Tuesday at the National Training Center.
