Frances H. Smith

Mrs. Frances H. Smith, 77, of 113 Church St., Suffolk, died June 15, 2005 in Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County. She was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Burnett and Flossie Lee Burnett, and the widower of John Smith. She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. She retired from Gwaltney Meat Company after 35 years.
Her survivors include two sons, Robert Smith and Willie Lee Smith, both of Suffolk; grandchildren, Antonio Smith (Angela), Francina Smith, Steve Blow, Dominique Steward, Andre Powell (Adriene), Phoniex Long, Rhasheem White, Tavis Skinner, Sonya Jordan (John), Tonya Harris (John) and Abdul Skinner; three nieces, Irene Jordan (Jimmy), of Baltimore, Md., Joanne Tillery and Tonya Tillery, both of Suffolk; nephews, Milton Tillery (Mara) and Larry Tillery, both of Norfolk; Billy Briggs Sr., of Suffolk, LeVoil Tillery, of Philadelpha, Penn.; Lee Otis Tillery (Louise), of Suffolk; one brother-in-law, Amos Tillery Sr., of Suffolk; a host of grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a host of cousins, friends, and other relatives.
Five sisters preceded her in death: Irene Tillery, Viola Lindsey, Daisy Brown, Mary Lee White and Emma White; two nieces preceded her in death, Faye Tillery and Margaret Gambrell; four nephews preceded her in death, Thomas Lee Tillery, Amos Tillery Jr., Richard Tillery, and Donald Tillery.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2005 at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Hobbs will officiate.
The interment will be held in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge of arrangements.
