Helen Lee Ford

On July 1, 2005, Helen Lee Ford heard the voice of God and journey to her heavenly home. She was born on Nov. 1, 1927 in Whaleyville to the late Willie and Albena Winborne Ford.
She retired from Planters Peanuts after many years of service. She was a member of Mineral Spring Baptist Church where she served as Vice President of the Missionary Society, Sunday School Member, Church Sexton, and Kitchen Committee, Beautification Club and founder and President of the Golden Age Club.
She was predeceased by her parents, Willie and Albena Ford, a sister Annette Ford; four brothers, James (Willie), Jacob, Robert and Benjamin Ford.
She leaves to cherish her memories her nieces, Tabatha Ford and Annette Ford Beale; nephew, Winzel Ford; sisters-in-law, Bertha Ford, Beatrice Ford and Gertrude Ford; devoted friend and church sister, Ernestine Langston and devoted friend, Dora Banks; god daughter/biblical gift of helps, Elder Dr. Viola Parker; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 6. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Langston Cemetery in Suffolk.
The family will greet family and friends from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at 4824 Mineral Spring Road in Whaleyville and will leave from there on Thursday for procession at noon. Professional service entrusted to T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home
