July and August events at the Suffolk Museum

Art Days are Thursdays from now to Aug. 4. For ages 5-14, the cost is $1 per student. Ages 5-8 attend from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Ages 9-14 attend from 1 to 3 p.m. This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Suffolk Fine Arts Commission. Call 925-0448 for more information .
Sunday, July 17 marks the opening reception for &uot;The Many Faces of Rieneke Leenders&uot; winner of the Suffolk Art League’s Annual Juried Exhibition 2004. The reception will be at the Suffolk Museum 118 Bosley Ave. from 4 to 6
p.m. This exhibit continues through Aug. 19.
Art Camp runs Monday through Friday Aug. 8-12. Session I is from 10 to noon. Session II is from 1 to 3 p.m.
For ages 7-12, the fee is $45. The
registration deadline is Aug. 1. Funding is provided in part by the Suffolk Rotary Club.
On Aug.18, the Suffolk Museum will take a day trip to the Hermitage Foundation Museum in Norfolk. The bus will leave the Suffolk Museum at 9:15 a.m. and return at around 4 p.m. Registration ends Aug. 11. The fee is $12.50. Participants will receive a guided tour of the 15 galleries of the Sloane family art collection, furniture and history. There will be a stop in Ghent for independent lunch. From 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 28,
the opening reception of the Suffolk Quilter’s Guild 6th Triennial Quilt Exhibit begins and will run through Oct. 16.
