Betty P. Grady

Betty Privette Grady, 75, died July 30, 2005. She was a retired dietary supervisor with 30 years of service with Obici Hospital. She lived a fulfilling life with her greatest joys being her marriage of 47 years to Earl F. Grady to whom she is now eternally united; and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Cheryl G. Styron of Beaufort, N.C.; Andrew E. and Marion Grady of Portsmouth; Laura G. Mills of Concord; Claudia G. Branchaud, Robert P. and Kathy Grady, Pat G. and Sid Daughtrey and Meri Beth G. and Mike Carr, all of Suffolk; grandchildren, Benny Styron, Andrea and Bryan Grady, Josh Mills, Kristen Branchaud, Megan and Matthew Grady, Justin and Ross Carr and two great-grandchildren, Elliott and Drew Hess; her mother, Laura Hines Privette of Kinston, N.C.; sisters, Helen P. Hill and Ava P. Cooke of Kinston and Cherie P. Guthrie of Morehead City and one brother, John T. Privette of Kinston, two brothers-in-law, Tommy Cooke and Jimmy Guthrie and a large extended family and many friends.
Her father, James C. Privette, her husband, Earl F. Grady, two brothers, George and Harry Privette, a granddaughter, Kaithlyn B. Grady and a son-in law, Garnett A. Mills predeceased her.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell and Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Ralston will officiate. Visitation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad or the American Heart Association.
