The 2005 Constant’s Wharf TGIF Concert Series continues tonight when Fabled Automatic hits the stage at 6 p.m., followed by the Gibb Droll Band at about 7:30.
Based out of Richmond, Automatic is a four-man group that specializes in original music played as revamped covers. The group draws from such influences as Prince, James Brown, and the Police.
Their music places a large amount of emphasis on vocal harmonies, song structure, and catchy guitar riffs.
Described as a &uot;jazz/rock/blues quartet&uot;, Gibb Droll Band has been on a 30+ event, nationwide, concert tour this summer with Marc Broussard.
Namesake of the group, and more importantly, lead guitarist, Gibb Droll is a Virginia Beach native. Droll has recently played for Broussard on Late Night with Conan O’Brian and while Broussard opened three concerts featuring Dave Matthews Band during July.
The show at Constant’s Wharf Park and Marina is set for 6 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
The Concert Series, with concerts set for each Friday night in August, is sponsored by Duke Automotive, Edward Jones, The Blair Brothers Inc., and Budweiser.
