Nursing students at Paul D. Camp Community College are kicking off their fall service project by collecting supplies for non-profit health organizations.

The PDCCC Nursing Student Association is hosting a “Care to Share” supply drive to gather items to donate to the Western Tidewater Free Clinic and the Center for Sexual Assault Survivors in Newport News.

NSA president Denise Gephart said the two clinics provide important support to people in the immediate and surrounding communities.

“They also afford all nursing students the opportunity to apply and improve their fundamental knowledge of holistic nursing in the clinic setting,” she said.

The group has collection bins set up in the administration offices on the Hobbs Suffolk campus, on Kenyon Road, and the Smithfield Center, on James Street, as well as at the nursing office on the Franklin campus, on North College Drive.

The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors needs all sizes of women’s, girls’, men’s and boys’ underwear.

Additionally, the Western Tidewater Free Clinic needs various supplies including:

• 8 ½ x 11 copy paper
• Toilet paper and paper towels
• Black pens and Sharpies
• Post-It or other sticky notepads
• Avery 5160 or 5167 address labels
• Rolls of Scotch tape
• Paper plates and napkins
• Disposable cups for both hot and cold drinks
• Sodas and juices
• Trail mix, granola bars, peanuts and crackers
• Individual serving bags of chips and cookies
• Clorox Clean-up spray and toilet bowl cleaner
• Disinfectant spray and wipes (Clorox, Lysol)
• 13-gallon kitchen trash bags
• Spray air fresheners
• Bottles of hand sanitizer
