Evangelist Honor Jane Johnson Harding went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011. She was born in Elizabethtown, N.C., to Josephine and Henry McRae.
Her family relocated to Pennsylvania, where she was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. Jane pursued a career in nursing and attended Watson Institute of Nursing. She also received her Ministerial License from the Jameson Bible Institute.
Jane was married to the late Robert Johnson. From this union were born three sons: Robert, David and Mark; and two daughters: Robin and Darlene.
She later met and married Deacon Charles Harding, formerly of Suffolk, and from this union one son, Anthony Harding, was born.
Her love, laughter, joy, beautiful smile and memory will always be cherished by her husband, Charles; children, Robin McRae, Darlene J. Coleman (husband Elder Shawn Coleman); Robert Johnson (wife Balia); David Johnson, Mark Johnson (wife Arronda), Anthony Harding (wife Tammy); her mother, Josephine McRae; sisters, Annie M. Clark and Merlene McRae; brothers, Johnel McRae (wife Lisa), Carl McRae (wife Debbie), Charles W. Harding (wife Tanya) and Sebastian Harding; 30 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A homegoing service was held Saturday, Aug. 27, at Community Bible Deliverance Church, Philadelphia, Pa., and interment was at Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston, Pa.
