The fourth annual Suffolk Swamp Roar Motorcycle Rally, originally scheduled for this morning, has been postponed until Sunday due to rain.
The motorcycles will leave the Suffolk Executive Airport at 10:30 a.m. Sunday for the 80-mile ride circling the perimeter of the Great Dismal Swamp and Wildlife Refuge. The bikes will begin lining up at 9 a.m.
The post-ride reception will be held adjacent to the Main Stage at Peanut Fest.
People can still register for the swamp roar on Sunday, said Theresa Earles, the city’s tourism development coordinator.
Cost is $20 per driver, $10 per passenger. Participants will be treated to breakfast, the post-ride reception and an event T-shirt.
All proceeds from the Swamp Roar will be spent on education, signage programs and habitat restoration for the Great Dismal.
