Ricky Joe

Ricky Joe, 42, of the 2300 block Nansemond Parkway, died Oct. 8, 2005 in Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk and son of the late Lonnie and Dorothy Joe.
He was a graduate of Forest Glen High School. He was retired from the City of Suffolk after 15 years of service. He was a member of Rising St. James Holiness Church and a member of the Male Choir and Helping Hands Ministries. He was a member of the Boo Williams AAU basketball program and coached for the Suffolk City Recreation League.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Joe; a son, Sgt. Leandra Wilson of Andrews Air Force Base, Md.; a goddaughter, Juanita Council of Suffolk; one sister, Wanda Perkins of Suffolk; three brothers, Lonnie Hodges (Barbara), Antonio Joe, and Calvin Hodges, all of Suffolk; a loving and devoted aunt, Juanita Yates; his father-in-law, Eddie Wilson of Suffolk; three brothers-in-law, Otis Brown (Gail) of New Haven, Conn., Reginald Wilson (Diane) of Washington, D.C., and Lemuel Wilson (Latrice) of Richmond; close family friends, Albert Council and Steven Artis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 14, 2005 in Rising St. James Pentecostal Holiness Church by Bishop Dwight Whitfield. The family will be at 2396 Nansemond Parkway. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be registered online at http://crockerfuneralhome.com.
