Gracie Lee Diggs

Gracie Lee Diggs of 208 Lewis Avenue went home to be with the Lord Oct. 12, 2005. Gracie, a native of Smithfield and a retired worker of Planters Peanuts, was pre-deceased by her parents, Isaac Diggs and Novella White Clary Diggs; her sisters, Ida Armstrong, Artis Diggs; her brothers Henry Diggs, George Diggs and Ernest Diggs. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherella Diggs.
Gracie is survived by her children, Gloria Jean Bagley (Joe), Barbara Smith (Samuel), James Diggs (Diane) and Darryl Diggs, all of Suffolk. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, as well as her one special niece Beulah Mason. She will be truly missed by her devoted friend Gloria Jean Joyner as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A Home-going service will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 15, 2005 at Greater First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Betty Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at Harris Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Condolences or flowers can be sent to http://www.vharrisfuneralhomecom.
