Daisy Mae Scott Moore Mann “Daisy”, 86, of 2201 Stuart Avenue in Suffolk entered into eternal rest and peace on Nov. 15, 2005. She was born April 9,1919 in Nansemond County to the late Joseph and Alberta Scott. She was raised by the late Mother Luvenia Scott. She was preceded in death by five children.
She was an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Hobson up until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life seven daughters, devoted daughter and son in law Alberta Hedgepeth (Cyrus) of Suffolk; Mildred Olds of Newport News, Emma Perrine (Edward) of Philadelphia, Penn., Estelle Key (John) of Ohio, Vera Smith (Kenneth) of Portsmouth, Rita Smith (Robert) of Texas, and Elsie Porter (Richard) of Hampton; five sons Howard Mann Jr. (Linda) of North Carolina, Cyrus L. Mann (Annie) of Suffolk, George Mann of Germany, Leroy Mann (Hanna Lori) of Florida, and Larry Mann (Veronica) of Roanoke; eight sisters, Bernice Hill of Suffolk, Josephine Bradley of Baltimore, Md., Alma Wooten (Cleveland) of Baltimore, Md., Pearline Fulgham of Suffolk, Kay Pittman of Suffolk, Mary Rice of Portsmouth, Lillie Wellon of Suffolk, and Erma Scott of Suffolk; five brothers John Scott (Felicia) of Suffolk, Joe Henry Scott of Portsmouth, William Scott (Jeanie) of Hampton, Rev. James Scott (Pat) of Baltimore, Md., and Jackson Scott of Newport News; five sister-in-laws Mary Scott of Fayetteville, N.C., and Deloris Scott of Maryland and Blondell Scott of Windsor; 52
grandchildren, special and dedicated granddaughter Drusilla Stevenson of Portsmouth, 83 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, a special nurse Wille Mae-Mayfield, special friends Marian Briggs and Rev. Freddie Jordan, and a host of relatives and devoted friends.
Ms. Mann will be on view for the public from noon to 7 p.m. Nov. 18, 2005 at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home. Ms. Mann will be funeralized at 1 p.m., Nov. 19, 2005 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 8300 Crittenden Road, Hobson. Interment will immediately follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
