A grand jury on Monday indicted a Suffolk man and his nephew for sex crimes against the same juvenile.
Both Dennis Charles Manning, 41, and Christopher David Pelkey, 19, were arrested in July for having sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl, said Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Marie Walls.
Manning was indicted on charges of aggravated sexual battery, rape, abduction, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and carnal knowledge of a minor.
In the course of investigating the allegations against Manning, police discovered the victim had been involved in a consensual sexual relationship with Pelkey for several months, said Lt. Debbie J. George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.
Consequently, he was charged with five counts of carnal knowledge of a minor, two counts of crimes against nature, and one count of indecent liberties with a minor.
Manning will be arraigned in Suffolk Circuit Court on Dec. 2; Pelkey is slated to appear in court on Dec. 9.
The grand jury also indicted:
*Latron Travelle Winnegan, with unlawful wounding, using of a firearm in the commission of a felony, four counts of discharging a firearm/missile in an occupied building, two counts of shooting from a motor vehicle and aggravated malicious wounding.
*Travis Terrell Holloman, on charges of armed robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a sawed off shotgun, conspiracy to commit a felony and abduction.
*James Robert Lassiter, with felony shooting/stabbing, malicious wounding, arson and obstruction of justice.
