Columbus Leroy Peele peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was born on February 17, 1947 to Lorenzo Peele and Eloise Eley Peele in Nansemond County (Suffolk), Virginia.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Lorenzo Peele Jr., and Lee Anthony Peele.

Columbus leaves behind to cherish his memory and celebrate his life son Troy Peele (Donyall) of Newport News; daughter Senetra Peele; parents Lorenzo and Eloise Peele;

sisters Annie Austin ( Roy), Mary Herndon (James), and Glynda Lawrence (William) all of Suffolk;

brothers Lawrence M. Peele (Kathleen) of Hackensack, N.J., Clifton Peele (Loraine) of Suffolk, Earl S. Peele (Deloris) and Windell Peele (Vanessa) of Portsmouth, and Wille G. Peele of Seattle, Wash.; and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Peele will be on view 1-7 p.m. Friday, April 21, at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors at 1523 Old Mill Creek Drive, Suffolk, at all times. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at T.E. Cooke- Overton Funeral Home. The Rev. Steven Blunt of First Baptist Mahan will officiate.

The family will assemble at Old Mill Creek Drive 1 p.m. Saturday for the funeral procession.
