To the editor:

I would like to thank the city of Suffolk for my new monster trashcan.

We on the south side were not trashcan-worthy until money was involved. Of course, if our City Council had used the windfall money to pay for the city’s solid waste obligations, we still wouldn’t be worthy of trashcans.

Instead, they used the money for employee bonuses. I know the city employees have not had a raise, but guess what? We have not had one, either!

City Manager Selena Cuffee-Glenn and President Barack Obama must be from the same school: They both think turnips bleed.
