HAMPTON— After last weekend’s washout, Langley Speedway resumes its 2011 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series campaign Saturday as Langley Federal Credit Union and Heritage Motor Co. team up to present a nine-race program.

Saturday’s slate is: Crossroads Fuel Service Late Model Stock Cars (Twin 50s); KeesVacations.com Modifieds (Twin 30s); Heritage Motor Co. Super Streets (Twin 25s); Larry King Law Super Trucks (25 laps); EZ Auto of Newport News UCARs (25 laps); and Standard Welding Pro Sixes (30 laps).

Front gates open and afternoon practice gets under way at 2 p.m., followed by time trials at 4:30. Pre-race festivities begin at 6:55, while the first Super Street race goes green shortly after 7.

Langley fans, drivers and crew members are reminded to bring backpacks and school supplies Saturday night as the track holds its “Stuff the Bus” drive.

Track officials hope to fill the Speedway’s own hot rod — the “Boogity-Boogity-Boogity Bus” — with more than 500 backpacks and other school necessities. The donated items will benefit children in Hampton, Newport News and Appalachia.

Despite two weekends of inactivity, C.E. Falk remains fourth in this week’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national top 500.

Greg Edwards and Danny Edwards Jr. are Langley’s other representatives in the top 100, checking in at 23rd and 70th, respectively.

In the Super Street division, Ritchie German has opened a 30-point margin over Ryan Nester in the battle for the 2011 title, 338-308.

Landon Florian, a six-time race winner this season, leads Sammy Gaita by 34 points in the UCAR standings, 356-322.

Doug Warren holds a 14-point lead over Casey Sipe in the Pro Six rundown, 376-362.
