Gloria Jean Majette Baker, 66, of 406 Webb St., Suffolk, Va., died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Willie Majette Sr. and Annie Lee Majette. She was preceded in death by a sister, Florine Boone; a brother, Thomas Hardison.

She was a member of True Gospel Christian Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Brenda Harris (Frederick) of Killeen, Texas, and Pamela Washington (Earl), of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, Larry Jacobs and Anthony Majette, both of Suffolk; two sisters, Alice Majette and Annie Scott (Parris), both of Suffolk; two brothers, Willie Herman Majette Jr. and Carlton Hayes (Robin), both of Suffolk; 13 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Rising Saint James Holiness Church, officiated by the Rev. George Smith. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
