The Rev. Madelaine Kay Johnson (Bertrum) and the late Casper E. Edmonds Sr. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Diedre’ Alycia Hicks, to Corie Eugene Ricks Sr., son of Michelle Bailey and Erwin Ricks.

Diedre’ is a 1995 graduate of Lakeland High School and is employed with LabCorp as an outreach phlebotomist. Corie is a 1999 graduate of Nansemond River High School and is employed with the city of Suffolk Department of Public Utilities.

The couple will wed Sept. 10, 2011 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, where the Rev. Dr. Anthony Copeland Sr. is pastor.
