Nansemond-Suffolk’s cross country teams competed on Friday in the Tidewater Conference Meet at Mt. Trashmore in Virginia Beach. The boys team finished third of 10 schools and the Lady Saints finished fifth of 10 schools.
NSA’s boys team was led by David Leber who finished fifth with a time of 17:25 and Nick Miller who was eighth (17:35). Leber and Miller made the all-conference team. Bobby Writtenberry, Thomas Ball and Wesley Norton completed the Saints’ team score. Norton ran a personal record time.
Meera Venkataraman (21:53, personal record), Shannon McDonald (23:13), Lindsey Patrick (23:29, personal record), Lisa Kessler and Caroline Morse led the Lady Saints.
The Saint teams did well despite missing several top runners to sickness, said head coach Diana Ligler.
