The Wreath Society to decorate cemetery

Published 1:35 am Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Every year during the holiday season, Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., is decorated with beautiful green wreaths with a simple red bow. These wreaths are donated by a wreath company in Maine.

A group of local, and interested friends, have joined together to provide wreaths for the Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, on Milners Road, in Suffolk, Va. At present there are over 2,000 burial sites at this cemetery. The group consists of the cemetery director, Dan Kemano, Dassa Carvey, president of Waves National, Donna Eby, veteran, Gail Williams, SunTrust president, Ray Bennett, Bennett’s Florist, Marion Ritter, Sarah Bowen, Deborah Banks, Virginia Air National Guard, and Jeanne Banks.

Please consider making a contribution to The Wreath Society. Your contribution may be sent to SunTrust Bank, 123 Main St., Suffolk, VA 23434. An account has been opened to receive these funds.
