Signs, signs, everywhere there are signs

A week ago, Suffolk’s scenic roads and byways were plastered with signage from various political hopefuls seeking your vote. More than a week after Suffolk’s historic local election, which resulted in the highest voter turnout ever, many candidates’ signs remain standing. The only problem is the election is over, and your vote won’t do much for them now.
Adding to their vote-seeking-dilemma is the grossly unappealing presence these signs give to passers by. The fact is that the countless signs remaining throughout the city do nothing more for the candidates and only clutters Suffolk’s landscape. Indeed efforts have been made by a number of the candidates to remove most, if not all, of their signs. However, it isn’t difficult for anyone to find a political sign stuck in a yard or on the side of the road.
The election is over and whether or not a candidate won the office they were vying for shouldn’t prolong the process of removing political signs. The signs are becoming unsightly and should be removed. If the candidates don’t remove their signs, then the city ought to help them with the process.
