Isle of Wight fills staff spots

Matthew Smolnik was recently promoted to assistant director of planning and zoning for Isle of Wight County. He will be paid $64,185 annually.
Smolnik joined the county staff as the principal planner in May 2008 after serving as a planner for James City County.
He has bachelor’s degrees in ecology and criminal justice from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in geography from the University of West Virginia.
Joanne DelleDonne as been hired as the county’s chief animal control officer, effective July 11.
DelleDonne will be paid $33,800.
She recently served as a deputy animal control officer for Portsmouth. Prior to relocating Hampton Roads, DelleDonne served as the chief animal control officer for Amelia County.
She has a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Athens State College in Alabama.
