Several thousand homes in North Suffolk are expected to be without water for several hours Monday night, as service has been shut down to allow for repairs to a water main.
A contractor damaged a water main near the Suffolk Water Tank, according to city spokeswoman Debbie George. The areas impacted are east of Route 664 and north of Route 164, including the Burbage Grant, Wynnewood and Huntersville neighborhoods.
In a press release sent to media outlets at about 5:30 p.m., George said repairs were expected to take about six hours.
