Lakeland finished ninth of 17 schools at the Lee-Davis Holiday Invitational wrestling meet on Saturday. Five Cavaliers wrestlers were among the top wrestlers in their weight classes.

Heavyweight Jeremy Britt finished second with a record of 3-1. Alex Sari (160) and Keith Whitehead (135) were each third place. Sari was 4-1 in the tournament and Whitehead was 5-1.

Cory Beale (189) and Lance Smith (125) were fourth and sixth in their classes respectively.

For the season, Sari is 12-1, Beale and Whitehead are 12-3, Britt is 10-3 and Smith is 9-6. Lakeland’s team record in duals stands at 6-3.

Lakeland is hosting the second annual Cavalier Duals on Saturday, Jan. 3 starting at 8:30 a.m.
