Mattie Lee Williams “Weenie” Holley, 61, of 1000 Litton Lane, Suffolk, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Walter and Willie Sears Williams.
She moved to Lakewood, N.J., in 1970 and was employed at Worthington Bi-Chemical for 19 years and 10 years part-time at Paul Kimbell Hospital. She returned to Virginia in 1990 and worked at Sentara Obici Hospital until her health began to fail. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church before leaving Suffolk and was reinstated there upon return.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Alphonso L. Holley; one daughter, Velma H. Smith (Calvin); one son, Carlton Leo Williams; three grandchildren, Caleisia Smith, Paul Harris Jr. and Khaleed Curry; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center officiated by the Rev. Nathaniel Scates Sr. Interment will be in Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery on Mann Road. The family will receive friends at 1000 Litton Lane, #1C Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no public viewing. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
