Shelter plans Midnight Madness
Published 9:57 pm Thursday, February 19, 2009
The Suffolk Humane Society and Suffolk Animal Control will join other shelters participating in a statewide Midnight Madness Adoptathon on Saturday.
The shelters will be open until midnight on Saturday. At each location, staff will fortify themselves with extra coffee and dress in their best flannel pajamas, fuzzy slippers and robes in honor of the event. Curlers and mud masks will be optional.
The purpose of the event is to find as many homes as possible for homeless animals hoping for adoption. Refreshments, snacks, raffles and prizes will be offered throughout the evening.
Whether you are looking for a lap cat, curtain climber or cuddle buddy; a pound puppy, Frisbee player or couch potato, your new best friend is waiting at one of these shelters.
The Suffolk Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the welfare of companion animals in the community through sponsoring spay and neuter programs, placing homeless animals in loving permanent homes and providing quality humane education with an emphasis on responsible pet ownership.
