Apparently, a man who entered the Beauty Gallery on Portsmouth Boulevard on Monday wasn’t all that interested in a hairdo.

Police say a dreadlocked man in his 30s entered the shop just before 6 p.m. and asked whether they had some products.

“During the course of the conversation, he produced a handgun and demanded money,” city spokeswoman Debbie George said.

Once he got some cash, the man fled the business on foot and headed west, George said.

Police describe the robber as a black male in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and 185 pounds, wearing black pants, a black shirt, black glasses and a black cap.
