Every article, every politician, every news writer and TV reporter uses different figures to describe the effects such a change will have.

If universal insurance is approved to cover an estimated 50 million uninsured people, there will be an immediate nationwide need for hundreds of new hospitals, and tens of thousand of new doctors, new nurses and new nurse’s assistants. Where will they come from?

Such unfulfilled needs are among the reasons that people and Canada and England — who have socialized medicine — have to wait months to receive an operation or other treatment. The same would happen here.
