Suffolk Public Schools and City Offices delay opening Tuesday Jan. 7

Suffolk Public Schools has made the decision to operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, therefore Suffolk Parks & Recreation Before-School programming is cancelled. After-School programming will operate as normal.

Suffolk City Offices will have a delayed opening of 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Alpha Personnel, unless otherwise directed by their supervisor, shall report for duty as usual.

Suffolk Transit advises no change in their operating schedule.

The North Suffolk Library and Morgan Memorial Library, as well as the East Suffolk Recreation Center, Curtis Milteer Recreation Center, Bennett’s Creek Recreation Center, and Suffolk Art Gallery will open at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Suffolk Public Works crews will continue working in 12-hour shifts to address roadway conditions.

During inclement weather conditions, drivers should exercise caution in their driving by driving alert and attentive, keeping their speed down, allowing a safe distance from the vehicle in front of them and avoiding sudden directional changes. Drivers should also travel a safe distance from Public Works vehicles to avoid being hit from material being spread on the road.
