A Nansemond River High School student has been charged with attempting to sell prescription drugs in the school’s cafeteria, according to Suffolk police.
The 15-year-old was trying to sell Percocet to other students, who promptly reported him to school administrators, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Debbie George.
George said in a press release that the school’s police resource officer had secured juvenile petitions against the student for possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of narcotics on school property and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
Under the school system’s policy, the student — whom the police did not identify because of his age — has been suspended and recommended for expulsion. George said she did not know whether the student had been detained.
