Chesapeake police are asking for help from the public in apprehending a man who robbed a bank Tuesday morning in the Chesapeake Square area.
Shortly after 10 a.m., a man entered the ABNB Federal Credit Union branch located at 4109 Chesapeake Square Blvd. and demanded money while implying that he had a weapon, according to Detective Gus Mojica, a spokesman for the Chesapeake Police Department.
After obtaining money, the man walked out of the bank and got into a silver, newer-model vehicle that was already occupied by another person, Mojica stated in a press release Tuesday evening.
The vehicle left the lot westbound on Portsmouth Boulevard, headed toward Suffolk, according to the release.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 20s. The suspect is about 5’9” and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt over a gray long-sleeved shirt and a gray-and-orange baseball cap over a white do-rag.
