SFD respond to house fire on E. Washington

SUFFOLK -Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk Police responded to the 2400 Block of E. Washington St. for a residential structure fire. Emergency Communications dispatched the incident at 4:02 p.m.
Engine 3, Ladder 3 and Medic 3 arrived at 4:06 p.m. with heavy smoke showing from a from a single-story residential structure. Crews entered the structure and found a bedroom on fire. As the fire was being attacked, crews searched the interior of the structure. The fire was placed under control at 4:27 p.m. Heavy fire damage occurred to the bedroom and moderate smoke damage occurred to the structure.
The cause and origin of the fire is being investigated by the Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office. Three adults are displaced with the American Red Cross assisting the displaced.
