The City of Suffolk is gearing up for its annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, Dec.14, and several road closures will be in place to accommodate the event. 

Beginning Saturday at noon, W. Washington St. and N. Main St. will be closed to traffic, with restrictions lasting until 10:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m., several streets within the Lakeside community and along the parade route will close for setup, this includes the closure of southbound vehicle access at Constance Rd and N. Main St. to Mahan St. 

Additionally, N. Main St. from Mahan St. to Fayette St. at Carolina Rd. will be closed to both northbound and southbound traffic. Washington St. from Commerce St. West to Military Rd. and Prentis St. from W. Constance Rd. to N. Main St. will also be fully closed. 

All affected roads are expected to reopen by 9:00 p.m. Signage indicating road closures and detours will be posted, and traffic control measures will be in effect.  Parking for the event is available for free in several lots surrounding the parade route.
