Elizabeth Whedbee Baker went to be with the lord Nov. 24, 2024, at the age of 83. She was raised in the Driver village by the late N.L. “Bonny” and Beulah L. Whedbee. She is also predeceased by her loving husband, O.J. Baker, Jr.; and brothers, Ninville L. Whedbee, Jr. and George B. Whedbee, Sr. and Aubrey Whedbee. She had the love of Christ and was a member of Westside Church.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Terry L. Baker (Shelley); stepdaughter, Suzann Baker Bird; grandchildren, Megan and Tyler Baker, Angela and Madison Bird, Jason and Christopher Swain, and Donavon Darget; brothers, John A. Whedbee, Sr. (Margarett), Jimmy L. Whedbee, Sr. (Lou); nieces Kim, Tina, and Sharon; nephews Johnny, Jim and Richard. She loved all seven of her grandchildren, and she was their Nanny.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, North Suffolk Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
