Two displaced in residential structure fire

SUFFOLK, Va. – Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded Tuesday morning November 19, 2024, to a reported residential structure fire in the 100 block of South 5th Street.
Emergency Communications was contacted at 7:40 a.m. and the first unit arrived on scene at 7:43 a.m.
Engine 3 arrived to find a single story home with smoke showing from the front door of the structure. Upon entry, fire crews found the contents of a front bedroom on fire. An aggressive interior attack quickly extinguished the fire and prevented extension to the rest of the home. The occupants of the home were able to evacuate prior to the arrival of emergency crews.
There were no injuries as a result of this incident. Two occupants have been displaced.
