Suffolk City Council unanimously approved two ordinances for funding towards Port 460 improvements during their council meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The city approved an ordinance to receive $4,100,000 in funding proffered by Port 460 Owners LLC in support of the preliminary engineering of the Route 460 Improvements project. Funding is planned to be used toward 30% of preliminary engineering plans for roadway improvements from the U.S. Route 58 eastbound off ramp at Pruden Blvd. to the intersection of Lake Prince Dr. and Providence Rd. City Manager Albert S. Moor II provided details during the meeting.

“Adoption of the ordinance will increase the revenues and expenditures of the Capital Projects Fund Budget by the $4,100,000,” Moor said during the meeting.
