On April 25th, the Suffolk Crime Line hosted its Fourth Annual Suffolk Crime Line Ride “Bikers Against Crime 2009.” The riders left from Nansemond River High School that Saturday morning to sunshine and a cool breeze. The ride drew motorcycle enthusiasts not only from Suffolk, but also from all of Hampton Roads, as well as North Carolina. There were more than 100 motorcycles participating in the event.

The Suffolk Crime Line is a non-profit, community program that unites the public, the media and the police in their fight against crime. Crime Line offers anonymity and cash rewards to citizens who furnish information concerning crimes. If that information leads to an arrest, recovery of stolen property or the seizure of illegal drugs, callers receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.

This event would not have been possible without the help and support of local businesses in the Suffolk area.

There were also many others who provided items for this event, and we would like to recognize them also. They include Blue Knight Chapter 7, which provided volunteers to help with parking; Chick-Fil-A, which provided coupons; Ricky and Roy’s Catering, which provided iced tea and lemonade; Express PC Solutions, which provided the signs; CMA’s Christian Motorcycle Association, which provided volunteers and coffee; Faith Riders, which provided volunteers to help with registration; Penske Truck Leasing, which provided us a truck for the day to haul various items to the event; and Peanut City Catering, which provided cooking services, as well as Bill Perdue to cook at the event.

We would also like to thank Long Shot Band, which provided music during lunch.

Once again, our event was very successful, and we also want to thank all of the riders who participated. Without them, the event would not be what it is, and the support of the community to this organization is what makes it so successful.
