Early morning fire leaves three displaced

An early morning fire on Hollywood Avenue has displaced three people. According to a media release, Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 600 Block of Hollywood Avenue blaze at 2:32 a.m.
Once on scene, crews found heavy fire showing from the rear and roof of a two-story detached residential structure. The release says one adult and two children evacuated the structure just before firefighters arrived. Heavy fire had progressed up the rear of the structure and entered the attic. Engine companies performed an interior attack while the ladder company performed searches. Extensive fire and smoke damage occurred to the structure.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire, which was controlled at 3:37 a.m., with no injuries reported.
