In an eventful women’s 800m final that saw Olympic Champion Athing Mu take a fall early on, Suffolk’s Michaela Rose just missed a spot on the US Olympic Track and Field Team, finishing fourth in the events final.
Rose took a brief lead but could not keep up the pace against Nia Akins, who took the lead in the home straight away, finishing with a time of 1:57.36. Allie Wilson and Juliette Whittaker followed Akins and claimed the final two spots on the Olympic team.
