Suffolk River Heritage has recently completed a project to digitize its records and books, making them accessible to the general public. This endeavor was made possible through a Rotary District 7600 grant facilitated by the North Suffolk Rotary Club.

With a mission to promote historical awareness and interest within the local communities of Crittenden, Hobson, Eclipse, Bennett’s Creek, and Suffolk, Suffolk River Heritage collects and publishes primary source material along with oral history memoirs from its residents. Serving as a repository for these historic documents, the foundation strives to advance its objectives.

The digitized documents and books can now be accessed on the SRH website at www.suffolkriverheritage.com, hosted by The Addison Group. A search function is available for user convenience. Four publications are presented as “flip books,” including titles such as The River Binds Us, Truckin’ On the Western Branch, Peninsula in Passage, and Screwpiles: The Forgotten Lighthouses.

Notably, The River Binds Us has experienced considerable success, selling out in two printings. Plans are underway for a new publication featuring an addendum, slated for release in the fall of 2026. Additionally, hardcover copies of the remaining three books can be purchased through the organization’s website.
