Are you in need of a coat for the ongoing winter season? Suffolk Public Libraries and nonprofit organization STAR Haven have teamed up to provide free winter coats for those in need at the Morgan Memorial Library, located 443 W. Washington St. Ongoing today until the library’s close of business at 8:00 p.m., Suffolk residents will have a chance to receive a free coat from STAR Haven members. STAR Haven President Kianna Boone had a chance to talk more about the program.
“We just basically want to make sure that the community has tabs to get all the items. We’ve collected exactly 190 coats,” Boone said. “This is our second year doing it. We normally do stuff outside, but we had a chance to partner with the library, which is great. So that’s the start of a good partnership here to help continue outreach in the community. As we continue to get more donations, we just want to give back out to the city.”
