Jeanette C. Griffin, 88 of Suffolk, passed away Jan. 27.  She was the daughter of the late Albert and Ruby Courtney.  She is also predeceased by her husband, Wallace E. Griffin, Jr.

Jeanette was a legal secretary for Sam Glasscock for over 50 years.  She loved her family and especially loved working in her yard.  She couldn’t wait until spring so that she could spend hours outside tending to her flowers.

Left to cherish Jeanette’s memories are her son, Butch Griffin and wife Gina of White Pine, Tennessee; daughter, Lori Dodge and husband Robert of Suffolk; 3 grandchildren, Kristin, Jeremy and Drew; 7 great grandchildren; and sisters, Jackie Griffin of Edenton, North Carolina, and Betty Luter of Virginia.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Feb. 1, 2024 at Holly Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.  R.W.
