The Suffolk Police Department is investigating a shooting they say occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at approximately 9:45 p.m., near the intersection of County Street and Dill Rd.

According to the media release from SPD, when officers arrived on the scene, they determined that an unidentified individual in a vehicle opened fire, striking another vehicle occupied by an adult male and an adult female. The release says the adult female suffered a gunshot wound to her leg and was treated on the scene by Suffolk Fire and Rescue and transported to an area hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

The shooter’s vehicle fled the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further information is available.
