17-year-old injured in Thanksgiving morning shooting

UPDATE:

Suffolk Police announced an arrest was made in connection with a shooting on Thanksgiving morning. SPD arrested Kameron Lee Goudy, 30, of Suffolk, in connection with the shooting incident that took place on Nov. 23, 2023, in the 200 block of North Broad Street.  

The incident took place after a verbal altercation between the victim and Goudy.  Goudy has been charged with Malicious Wounding (F), Reckless Handling of a Firearm (F), and Shooting in Public.

Goudy is currently being held without bond in Western Tidewater Regional J

According to a press release from the Suffolk Police Department, on Nov.23, 2023, at approximately 9:43 a.m., 911 received a call in regards to a person shot in the 200 block of North Broad Street. 

The victim, a 17-year-old male was treated on scene by Suffolk Fire and Rescue, and then transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There is no suspect information available at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing, and there is no further information available for release.
