Four area students have earned scholarships at Virginia Tech through the Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation, Inc.

Scholarships totaling $86,000 were awarded to two organizations and 86 students residing in Central and Eastern Virginia and Southern Maryland.

Carson Lee Daughtrey and Jacob Louis Estienne each received the George R. Pulley Jr. Memorial Endowment, donated by the family of George R. Pulley Jr. and Citizens & Industries of the Advancement of Agriculture through Education.

Robert Mark Estienne received the Phate and Annie Hodges Memorial Endowment, funded by Samuel and Novella Barnes.

Emily Anne King earned the Smithfield Jr. Market Hog Show Endowment, donated by the Smithfield Jr. Market Hog Show.

The Foundation was established by Colonial Farm Credit in 1990 to promote education and community enrichment through educational scholarships and support of programs and services offered by community organizations. Scholarships are awarded to individuals who exhibit an aptitude for learning and a desire for self-improvement through education. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships.
