Velma “Oveda” Johnson passed away on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023. 

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept.15, at Carver Memorial Cemetery, 2320 E. Washington St. A celebration of Oveda’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton. A repast will be held after the celebration in the funeral home. Entombment at Carver Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum to follow.
