200 gallons of diesel leak in Suffolk truck collision

According to a press release from Suffolk Fire and Rescue, SFD and Suffolk Police responded to a reported auto accident with unknown injuries in the 1000 block of Kenyon Ct, Thursday morning.

“Emergency communications was contacted at 8:02 a.m. and the first unit arrived on scene at 8:10 a.m.,” the release said. “Engine 4 arrived to find two dump trucks damaged as a result of a collision. One dump truck entered the parking lot of the Navy Exchange damaging multiple parked vehicles in the lot. The collision caused approximately 200 gallons of diesel fuel to leak from the trucks. All fuel has been contained.”

There were no injuries as a result of the accident.

The release said Kenyon Rd was closed as a result of the incident and currently remains closed. Suffolk Police Department remains on the scene. No estimated time of reopening has been provided.
