Police were called to the Starbucks, located in the 5800 block of Harbourview Boulevard, Thursday, July 27, on reports of a shooting, where they discovered one adult with a gunshot wound.

The victim, now identified as Barrett, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said a verbal dispute led to a physical altercation, which then escalated to gunfire from the other involved party outside of the establishment near the parking lot. A suspect fled on foot and was later apprehended by police near the scene, but the individual was later released without charges.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police said there is no further information available for release.
