Route 460 reopened to traffic after crews clear all hazards caused by Monday storms

Route 460 east and westbound near the 5400 of Pruden Boulevard was reopened around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Suffolk Police Officers responded to the location around 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 3 for downed power lines caused by trees falling in the roadway. Heavy wind and rain caused several poles and lines to be damaged by trees and debris, police said in a news release. No vehicles or residences were involved in the incident.
Route 460 was closed to through traffic through the night as workers to clear the highway of hazards.
At 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, city officials posted an update on Facebook saying that the Virginia Department of Transportation and Dominion Power believed their work to get the road open could be completed by 10 a.m. Traffic in the area was diverted down Kings Highway during the closure.
