Brush fire poses risks to structure on Pruden Boulevard

A fast-moving brush fire has units from Suffolk Fire and Rescue working to bring the blaze under control in the 4100 block of Pruden Boulevard.
Suffolk Emergency Communications dispatched the incident at 4:38 p.m. with the first units arriving at 4:42 p.m. The department’s Engine 6 and Ladder 6 arrived to find heavy smoke in a field with a fast-moving brush fire that was threatening structures.
Engine 6 upgraded the response to a structural assignment after arriving on scene and it was threatening numerous structures.
Crews are attacking the fire and are working to control the fire’s advancement from involving structures. The brush fire is involving about three acres at this time.
No injuries are reported by responders or residents.
The fire is not under control when the news release was issued at about 5:20 p.m.
Suffolk Police is providing traffic control on Pruden Boulevard with the East and West bound lanes closed until further notice.
At least 15 Fire and Rescue units have responded, along with a fire marshal and Suffolk Police.
